As cliched as it may sound but “Black Rose Immortal” is an epic. This song encompasses all the distinguishing attributes of Morningrise, the melancholy passages and the transitions from acoustic sound into blackish metal riffs culminating in another shift back to the sanity of clean vocals giving a transcending experience when its combined with the brilliantly sinister growls of Åkerfeldt.
Morningrise does not have something for everyone but it definitely offers everything possible for a progressive death fan who wants to walk into a rising sun on a winter morning with Black Rose Immortal.
